Goodbye 2006, it's been great!

Tour de Mesquite
20 miles
3:10:36 (9:30 pace)

Well I finished out my running year with a 20 mile course around town this morning. Weather was good except for a slight wind. I set out powerade and gel at miles 6 and 14 and that worked out pertty well. By the end of the run, my knees and hamstrings were killing me. I immediately grabbed my car keys and went for some donuts. After donuts I took a hot shower, and sat around for a little bit, but my knees were still throbbing so I ran a hot bath and soaked for a while. I felt much better after that (it didn't hurt that I had a beer with by bath). I think I'll take a contrast bath with the pool and the shower a little later in the day to help flush the junk out of my muscles. I wore my Corps Marathon Team uniform on this run to test it out and make sure it wouldn't chaffe me. It worked out pretty well; it's comfortable with some compression shorts and shirt to go with it. My new Nike technical visor is also working out pretty well. It's lightweight and gets the job done.

I still haven't come up with any resolutions for 2007, but I'd like to have two. One will probably be health related, but I need to come up with something more than that this year. We'll see!

Happy New Year!!!
