It's become pretty apparent that I've put off my two year cancer check-up because I'm just anxious about hearing what the results will be. I was made aware that I actually haven't been in for my one year check-up either. I have no reason to believe anything's wrong, but it's just a scary thing to deal with and ignorance is bliss.
I've been "conditioning" myself for a worst case scenario since I got my appointment scheduled on Monday, just in case. I joked with my parents today saying, "Well when the cancer comes back, I bet I can sell a lot more of my Team Ragan Apparel." Joking is one of the big ways I've always coped with this, and I think it works pretty well.
So I decided to go for a run tonight to see if the pain in my chest came back. Fortunately, it went pretty well. I ran 5 miles at a 8:12 pace, and felt pretty good about it, aside from just being a little out of shape. No chest pain! I'll start running again between now and my appointment Monday and hopefully the pain won't return before then. We'll see!
