I signed up for the Bandera 100K last night, so I'm running whether I'm prepared in time or not. I also registered for a couple half marathons in November to keep me motivated through some of my training. Technical shirts and medals for both(it's the little things)! One is the "The Half" put on by the Dallas Running Club. It'll be my second time to run it. The next is The Tyler Half, in Tyler, Tx. I'm excited about that one because Tyler is a pretty place, and it's their first annual event.
I think I may have been able to pull back from the brink of injury this week. I'll know after my run on Saturday (dist. to be determined). If I can stave off a stress fracture or knee problem, I'll be good to go. I also need to get my fundraiser organized. I can't recall if I mentioned this already, but I'm planning on doing my longest training run for Bandera on a junior high school track while taking donations. It's similar to the way Relay for Life got started and coincidentally, the money is for Aggie Relay for Life. I did a similar fundraiser two years ago for Team in Training by doing 20 miles on a treadmill in front of a Wal-Mart while taking donations. I raised almost $2000 in a few hours, and I'm hoping to do the same with this. It's a good way to stay motivated while I run in circles for hours, and at least it will be on a soft surface.

Exciting news! You'll be ready.
Looks like you've got yourself in too deep... no turning back now! Kind of like me and law school.
:-D You'll do just fine. Great idea for that fundraiser by the way.
just remember, if you start with the right pace, you can take a nap in the middle and still walk-run to the finish line in time...
i guess if you are really going to run all that way, you will need help from the best (i.e. me) along your way. i'll see what i can do about joining you in those halfsies in/near dallas.
until then, take care of yourself. i miss you all. -c
