3 Years and Still Kickin'

I had an Agricultural Economics Exam this morning (which I think I got a B on) and realized today was significant once I wrote the date down on my answer sheet. I got my cancer diagnosis three years ago today. I a had a little run of emotions there in my seat before the test started. I thought about it most of the rest of the day. I think I rather enjoy getting those little reminders of what I've been through sometimes. I've been so stressed with Relay for Life stuff going on, classes and of course training for the longest race I've attempted to date. I noticed how much calmer and relaxed I felt today after thinking about things. I've forgotten how I felt when I first came back to school after treatments. Nothing got to me for the longest time, because after dealing with something like cancer "the little things" just don't bother you as much. As I said, today felt pretty good, and I need to keep that feeling as long as I can.

I told my ex-girlfriend/best friend today that me and my roommate came to the conclusion that girls, as a species, need to be medicated (long story). Of course, she didn't think that was accurate, but that's besides the point. I told her that different girls require different degrees of anti-crazy drugs (which keep the weight of the world from literally crushing their spirits), but now that I'm writing this I think some girls could curb their craziness by blogging. Since it's kind of therapeutic and what not.

I'm running the Dallas Running Club's - The Half on Sunday. You'd think they would differentiate the title of their race just a little!
Friends ask, "What's the name of this race?"

When I reply "The Half" they just respond,

"Oh, never heard of that one."

Plus, the title is a little boastful if you ask me.

"Which half is it, Austin, San Antonio, Disney?

"Nope, those are small potatoes. This is THE Half."

Like it's the first and only half, above all others! Well, I did it last year, and it's nice, but definitely doesn't make the cut of half marathons I want to do before I die. Anyways, just a little ranting. Okay, off to bed to rest these old bones.
