Merry Christmas

I got just about everything I wanted for Christmas, save for a few intangibles.

I was excited about giving Ian his climbing shoes and chalk bag. I would love for him to get excited about climbing so we could do it together more often.

My mom actually got me some clothes I might wear, which was unexpected. I also got the hydration pack I've been wanting for a while. Mostly, I think I'm just happy (and relieved) that I raised all that money to help cure the the damnable disease that took away a year of my life and claimed the lives of so many more. But like I keep saying, if it hadn't happened I wouldn't be the guy I am now (much improved), and I wouldn't have formed the great relationships with the caring people in my lives that I have now. I definitely wouldn't have had the courage to join an organization like the Team in Training to raise all this money or developed such a love for running. I'm thankful for it everyday, and wouldn't change it if I could. Sorry I'm getting on a rant here...Moving on.

We're picking up a crash pad from REI tomorrow morning and heading out to Tonkawa Falls until Tuesday evening. Hopefully it will be a great time, and I'll be a better climber for it. I wanted to rough it, but Ian insists on bringing "non-essentials" like a cooler to keep cold water, and extra dishes and bedding. Oh well, I'm bringing a battery radio with MP3 player to listen to some tunes while we climb.

Merry Christmas everybody!

By the way, anyone can post comments on my blog now. I set it so you don't need an account anymore, yah!
