Getting Back Into It

So I haven't done much running this summer with the heat, but it's been a good excuse to stay off my legs for a while. Last season I was constantly pushing it and as a result ended up with too many injuries by the time school let out. I've focused mainly on climbing this summer with runs few and far between.

I finally fixed my bike last week and I'm ready to get back into my normal routine. I won't be able to swim much for a couple of weeks until I move back in at school and can get to the rec center. For now it's just running and biking...and running...and more biking...well you get it.

So this morning I opted for the slow and easy middle distance of 4 1/4 which I did with my headphones pumping out some of my current favorites. I was pretty relaxed with no goal in mind other than to just keep moving until I felt tired. I don't want to push it this early, and I also need to remember why I love running in the first place which has nothing to do with races, PRs or mileage goals. It's just going out and relieving stress, enjoying the outdoors, being healthy, deep (sometimes random) thought and stretching your legs! I think I accomplished that on this run.

Top songs on this run:
Thousand Foot Crutch - Move
Thousand Foot Crutch - Rawkfist
OAR - Love and Memories
Simple Plan- I'd Do Anything
Fallout Boy - XO
