This was my long run two weeks ago...and it was stinking hot!!! It turns out that doing your long run in the middle of the afternoon when it's 95 degrees is not the best idea. Actually I suspected this but just didn't have any other time to do it after I failed to get up early that morning like I planned. And wouldn't you know it, a storm rolled in right after I finished. Well at least in the future I know it can be done if I really need to.

This was my long run this past weekend, which turned out to be a pretty nice evening run. My brother rode his bike with me the whole way for company and probably complained more than I did. I kept a slow but steady pace the whole time, and could've brought more water with me.

I'm looking forward to the 15 mile run I have planned this weekend since the Aggies aren't playing at home. I'll have more time to get everything together, and I may try putting water out on the course that I plan so I won't have to carry all of it the whole way. My 2.0L camelback gets pretty cumbersome on those long runs.

Injury-wise I've just got a black toenail and some minor tightness in my calves for the first mile or two of my runs. I think the tightness is from my speedwork on Mondays and Wednesdays. The toenail is of course from my long runs, but not really something I'm worried about. We'll see how I'm holding up by the end of this week.
