I did a quick 1.5 mile run in my running class on Monday, so I was ready to get out and do a moderately paced middle distance run. There was a rolling blackout in Bryan-College Station due to an explosion at a power plant in Hunstville. I couldn't really study at 2030 at night, so I laced up and took off. I got an unexpected surprise from a skunk sitting on the side of the road. The bastard sprayed the side of my shoe, but thankfully didn't hit me anywhere else. The shoes are hanging out of my window now!

I did this run with Kacy and Israel. At mile two Israel had to take off because of some "cramping in his calf". He really just had to use the bathroom, haha! After the run I gave Kacy some advice about picking running shoes because she mentioned she needed some new ones. Oh, and I ran 2 quick miles in my running class on Wednesday.

This turned out to be a pretty successful run on the whole. I had some tightness in my calves for the first 4 or 5 miles and was also adjusting to the added weight and jostling of my camelback. I haven't run with it since last year because I just really haven't done a run long enough to need it in a while. I left the dorm at about 0515 and it was a great temperature the whole run (around 65). I got back just as the sun was coming up and I walked around the quad while I cooled down. I did quite a bit of stretching for a change, and it felt great. I didn't have any pain during the run, and kept a faster pace than I planned on. My MP3 played stopped working last night, but I was able to borrow Steven's and load it up before I went to bed.
