7 Miles

Seven mile run Thursday at an 8:40 pace. I felt pretty good the whole time and kept thinking, "Man, I still feel fresh 3 weeks into my more serious training." I started and finished on campus, so I still had to ride my bike back to the apartment. That turned out to be a good thing because it gave me a chance to cool down and keep my legs moving a little since I normally neglect a proper cool down.
The plan is to do 15 at Lake Bryan on Saturday (I'm sure I'll have pictures). Laura Carr is going to ride her bike and keep me company (as well as keep my drinks). That'll put me at 29 for the week before I pick it up past 30 next week. I'm already getting up near my maximum weekly mileage, and into no mans land. I'm always reading ultra runners blogs who are logging 100 mile weeks and I don't think I've ever put in more than 40 during a training week.

So there are less than 100 days now until Bandera 100K and that makes me really nervous. I'm still not sure I'll be ready in time. Don't get me wrong, if I stay injury free I will certainly run it either way, but that makes me even more nervous. I've been watching clips on Youtube about Scott Jurek and Anton Krupicka running Badwater and the Leadville 100 and it keeps me motivated.
