I like the pool running on Monday since I normally put in the bulk of my mileage over the weekend and it seems to be a nice way to loosen the legs up without any impact. I do a trail run on Monday nights so it is a nice double dose of exercise for the day. The pool running takes a little getting used to and I like it best when running in the deep end of 6+ feet. Good luck with your plans for a 50 miler.
